Job Description
J P Forrest & Son are subcontract engineers specialising in medium-heavy fabricated and machined components such as gearbox housings, main frames and sub-assemblies to industries including Rail, Oil and Gas, Steel making, Renewable Energy, Mining and Quarrying.
You will be required to program, set up and operate a 5-axis, 18 tonne capacity CNC horizontal boring machine, milling, drilling and boring one-off or small batch quantities of steel fabrications or castings up to 18 tonnes to very close tolerances.
This is a highly skilled position therefore significant recent experience of this type of work is essential (5+ years). You will work under your own initiative formulating the best method to produce any given job correctly and within budget.
Normal working hours are as follows:
39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
7.30am – 4.30pm: Monday to Thursday
7.30am – 12.30pm: Friday
However, we operate a flexible working system.
Attractive overtime rates, weekend overtime available.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- The position is based in Worksop, S81 7DJ - you must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work
