Contract Manager - Heat Network

Our client is seeking a Contract Manager to support the Route to Zero team on major heat network and energy services contracts in the area. This contract role will provide specialist contract management support across long-term concession agreements and associated sub-agreements, ensuring that all parties fulfil their contractual obligations. Experience in highways, energy services or Private Finance Initiative contracts would be advantageous, while direct heat network experience is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

Managing and monitoring obligations under the Broad Street Energy Services concession and associated agreements

Supporting the effective management of the Eastside Phase 1 concession and related arrangements

Reviewing contract performance, service delivery and compliance against agreed terms

Monitoring the fulfilment of obligations by public sector and service provider stakeholders

Identifying contractual risks, performance issues and opportunities for improvement

Preparing contract management reports, correspondence and performance documentation

Working with internal teams, partners and external stakeholders to resolve contractual matters

Providing professional advice on contract interpretation, governance and administration

Requirements

Experience in contract management within highways, infrastructure, energy services or a related discipline

Understanding of concession agreements, service contracts or Private Finance Initiative arrangements

Knowledge of contract performance monitoring, compliance and risk management

Ability to interpret complex contractual documentation and identify key obligations

Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills

Excellent report writing, organisational and administrative abilities

Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to contract governance

Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider professional team

Contract Details:

Approximately 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension

Start date: As soon as possible
