Senior Java Developer – Banking & Financial Services | Leeds, UK | SC Clearance Eligible
Are you a passionate Senior Java Developer looking to make an impact within the Banking & Financial Services sector? We're partnering with a leading BFSI client to find an experienced engineer who thrives in a collaborative, cloud-first, DevOps environment and enjoys building secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions.
The Role
As a Senior Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering cloud-native applications while working closely with cross-functional teams. You'll be expected to provide technical guidance, contribute to architectural decisions, and champion best practices across development, security, and DevOps.
We're looking for someone with a growth mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for mentoring and supporting team members.
Strong experience with, or a solid understanding of:
- Amazon S3
- AWS Glue
- Lambda
- DynamoDB
- OpenSearch
- CloudFormation
- API Gateway
- ECS
- CloudWatch
- Strong proficiency in Java/Kotlin
- Experience with Node.js and TypeScript
- Advanced SQL skills
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and design patterns
- Experience working with relational databases using SQL
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases, particularly DynamoDB
Strong understanding of AWS security best practices, including:
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
- Principle of Least Privilege
- Secure handling of sensitive data, tokens, and credentials
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Strong knowledge of Git and GitHub Actions
